Dengelsberg Manor

Gut Dengelsberg only became independent in 1920, having previously belonged to Gut Kluvensiek.

Exterior

The manor house is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof, built in 1774. The facade is structured by nine window axes. The central axis is emphasized by a three-story risalit with a triangular gable. The entrance portal is adorned with a sandstone frame and a coat of arms.

The windows are rectangular and have simple sandstone sills. The roof is covered with red roof tiles. On the west side, a single-story extension with a flat roof was added in the 19th century.

Interior

The interior of the manor house has largely been preserved in its original state. On the ground floor, there is a spacious hall with a historic staircase. The walls are decorated with stucco and paintings. The representative rooms, such as the salon and the dining room, are located on the first floor.

The salon is furnished with historic furniture and a fireplace. The dining room has a large table and a buffet. From the windows, there is a beautiful view of the park.

The manor house is surrounded by a spacious park, which was laid out in the 18th century. The park features old trees, winding paths, and a pond. In the park, there are also several outbuildings, such as a coach house and a stable.

The park is a popular destination for walks and offers a tranquil atmosphere. It is also used for events such as concerts and exhibitions.

Today, Gut Dengelsberg is privately owned and is used as a residential building. Parts of the park are open to the public. The manor house is a listed building and is considered an important example of North German manor house architecture.
