Ehlerstorf Manor

The lands of what would become Ehlerstorf Manor initially belonged to Count Adolf III in the Middle Ages, then passed through the Bishops of Lübeck to the St. Johannis Monastery in Lübeck. After a brief interlude in the possession of the Rantzau family in the 14th century, Ehlerstorf reverted to the monastery. In 1464, the Pogwisch family acquired the property and established the estate economy there. They began constructing the present manor house in the 16th century. Through inheritance, the estate passed to the von der Wisch family in 1557, who managed it until the Thirty Years' War.
