Galenbeck Manor

The manor house of Gneven, an impressive baroque building, is located in the picturesque landscape of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. With its rich history and architectural beauty, it is a true jewel of the region.

History of the Manor House

The manor house was built between 1710 and 1712 by the noble family von Lützow. For centuries, it served as the family's residence and was a central point of the estate. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.

Architecture and Features

The manor house presents itself as a two-story plastered building with a mansard roof. The facade is adorned with numerous decorative elements, including pilasters, cornices, and window pediments. Inside, historical stucco ceilings, wall paintings, and valuable parquet floors have been preserved.

The Park

Surrounding the manor house is an extensive park, which was laid out in the 18th century as a baroque garden. Today, it combines elements of a baroque and a landscape garden. Ancient trees, winding paths, and a pond invite visitors to stroll and linger.

Current Use and Future

After a turbulent history, the manor house of Gneven was extensively renovated in the 1990s. Today, it houses apartments and is partly used for cultural events. The goal is to make this historical building accessible to the public and to preserve it for future generations.
