Gottmannsförde is first mentioned in 1348 in a document by Count Otto von Schwerin. The owner of the estate was Bolto von Drieberg. The estate and village remained in the possession of the von Drieberg family until 1781. After this, frequent changes of ownership took place. In 1829, Johann Friedrich von Böhl bought the property. The last owner until her forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945 was Margot von Böhl.

The manor house was built in 1847. In 1991, the descendant Raimar von Böhl und von Klass and his wife were able to reacquire the property.
