Groß Grabow Manor

The first documented mention of Groß Grabow dates back to September 21, 1419. Between the 13th and 16th centuries, the von Cölln family was documented as owners of the castle in Groß Grabow. This family also built Cölln Castle around 1237. In the village, two motte-and-bailey castles were built between 1200 and 1500, serving to secure the area and surrounded by settlements. After the Thirty Years' War, which devastated large parts of the arable land, extensive recultivation only took place about 100 years later. The manorial complex itself developed near the former castle mounds. In 1667, the Levetzows acquired the estate and remained owners until 1778. It is believed that the current manor house was built under their patronage.
