In Harmsdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Güldenstein Manor House is an example of Baroque estate architecture in Northern Germany. As a castle-like manor, it is considered one of the buildings of its kind in Holstein, alongside Pronstorf Manor, and remains in private ownership to this day.

History+

The origins of the estate date back to a medieval moated castle. Güldenstein Manor itself was probably founded in the first half of the 16th century through a division of the no longer existing Gneningen Manor. Ownership changed frequently, including the Sehested family (until 1608), Pogwisch (until 1632), and Ahlefeld (until 1701).
