The first documented mention of Hipfelhof dates back to 1229, when Pope Gregory IX confirmed the possession of Bebenhausen Monastery in this area. The property changed hands multiple times. For instance, in 1250, Imperial Bailiff Wilhelm von Wimpfen gifted his share to the hospital master of the Order of the Holy Spirit in Wimpfen. In the 16th century, the settlement came into the possession of Stephansfeld Abbey, which belonged to the Diocese of Strasbourg.
