Hirschfelde Manor

The village of Hirschfelde was first documented in 1268, belonging to Zinna Monastery for about a century. From 1450, it was owned by the von Krummensee family. In 1586, Hirschfelde became a knight's estate. A period began in 1753 with its acquisition by the Prussian Minister of Justice Levin-Friedrich von Bismarck, who bequeathed the estate to his son August Wilhelm in 1774. The property experienced a cultural heyday at the beginning of the 20th century under the Berlin entrepreneur and patron Eduard Arnhold, who acquired it in 1904. He had the manor house redesigned by architect Paul Baumgarten and the park transformed into a sculpture park.
