Höltenklinken Manor

Höltenklinken was founded as a noble estate. The farmers of today's main town Rümpel were obliged to serve the estate. As early as 1593, a paper mill is documented as a water mill on the Beste river. Later, the mill was used as a gunpowder mill and finally, until 1874, as a copper mill. Around 1850, a brickworks was built on the estate and a distillery was operated. After the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia, the estate was incorporated into the new district of Stormarn. With the introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution in 1889, it became part of the Rümpel administrative district. In 1906, the present manor house was built. When the estate districts were dissolved in 1928, Höltenklinken was incorporated into Rümpel.
