Hohenahlsdorf Manor

In 1790, the manor house was built as a replacement for a residential building of the estate owner that had been demolished elsewhere. A two-story half-timbered building with a mansard hip roof was erected, integrating an older solid core. At the same time, renowned landscape gardeners were commissioned to create a park, which together with the manor house and the farmyard formed the village center.

In 1945, the then estate owner was dispossessed in connection with the land reform, and the manor house was used as accommodation for refugees from former German eastern territories. From 1952 to 1994, the building housed a school; between 1995 and 1996, it was rented to private individuals. From 1996 onwards, it stood empty and has been undergoing renovation by a support association since 2007, being developed into a community meeting place.
