Kittlitz Manor

The manor house, a two-story plastered building with a mansard roof, was built in the second half of the 18th century. The exact construction period is not known. The building was probably built on older foundations. The manor house was originally part of a larger estate, which also included several farm buildings and a park.

The first known owners of the manor house were the Lords of Kittlitz, who owned the estate for several generations. In 1878, the estate was acquired by Mr. Finckler, who had extensive renovation and modernization work carried out on the manor house. These included, among other things, the installation of new windows and doors, the renovation of the facade and the interior design of several rooms.

In 1909/10, further extensive renovation measures were carried out on the manor house. These included, among other things, the construction of an extension on the west side of the building, which housed additional living space. The manor house was also equipped with a new heating system and modern sanitary facilities. The manor house was now one of the most modern and comfortable buildings in the region.

During the Second World War, the manor house was used as a military hospital for the Wehrmacht and as a prisoner-of-war camp. After the end of the war, the manor house was initially used as a refugee accommodation. In the 1950s, the manor house was converted into a school building. In the 1990s, the manor house was extensively renovated and has since been used as the municipal administration.
