Klein Kienitz Manor

The history of Klein Kienitz dates back to the 16th century. Between 1558 and 1581, the village was owned by the Mittelstraß family from Berlin, who had acquired it from the von Liepe and von Thümen families. They exercised jurisdiction, were church patrons, and received tributes from the farmers. In 1581, the property passed to Dr. Johann Köppen. Another part of the village, which was owned by the von Thümen and Milow families until 1537, came into the possession of the von Bettin family. This part changed hands in 1648 to the von Schlabrendorf zu Löwenbruch and later to the von der Gröben, who held it until the early 19th century. In 1752, Friedrich Bogislav von Tauentzien married Charlotte von dem Knesebeck, bringing the village and manor into the possession of the von Tauentzien family.
