History+

The first mention of the Klein Nordsee estate can be found in the Kiel city book around the year 1300. It was temporarily known as "Gut zum Achterwehre," indicating an earlier protective function against the Wends settled east of the Eider. The original owners, the Swawe family, lost their male heirs when Heinrich and Marquard Swawe fell in the Battle of Hemmingstedt in 1500.
