Klockow Manor

The Klockow estate belonged to the von Oertzen family since the 17th century. August von Oertzen (1777–1837) was State Minister of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. In 1838, the estate was bought by the von Bülow family. After the death of his parents, Carl von Bülow had a new manor house built in the Neo-Gothic style around 1853 according to plans by the Wismar architect Heinrich Thormann. The three-story central risalit facing the courtyard is a defining feature. Later, the manor house also temporarily served as a rectory. Later, the owners changed frequently. These were in 1871 the creditors of Otto von Itzenplitz, in 1884 Ernst von Meyern, in 1900 Adolf Burmeister and in 1914 Henning von Oertzen from Rattey. The last owner of the estate, Erich Srasen, had to give up possession in 1934 for financial reasons. After this, the manor house was used for various purposes. In 1992, the manor house became private property.
