Krimvitz Manor

Krimvitz Manor House is the birthplace of Prince Franz zu Putbus, whose family operated an agricultural estate at this location, formerly spelled "Crimvitz", for many decades. Festivals were often celebrated here, hunting parties were held, and winters were spent here, as the family's main residence, the castle in Putbus Castle Park, was difficult to heat in winter.

The name Krimvitz is said to have originated from the Crimean Linden Avenue (today the German Avenue Road). These linden trees were probably once actually brought here from the Crimean Peninsula. Avenues were laid out in old times to make paths recognizable and findable at all in winter, and certainly also to provide shade for travelers and farmers bringing in the harvest in summer.

The manor house was built in the 19th century. In 1945, the owners were forcibly dispossessed by the communists. After the war, the manor house served as a temporary home for many people who had lost their homes. During the Wende (turnaround) period, when nature had already begun to reclaim the house, it was acquired and renovated by the Krüger family. In May 1999, the first holiday guests could be welcomed.
