Langensee Manor

The manor house was built in 1798. The agricultural operations of the estate were dissolved in the 1930s. The remaining farm was transformed into a guesthouse and a "recreational facility for the physical and mental restoration of the weary city dweller". After the Second World War, it offered a new home to 13 refugee families, who gradually moved into the surrounding area. This was followed by decay and a Sleeping Beauty-like slumber, until a Mecklenburg family revived the house and grounds with the help of monument protection after reunification.
