Ludorf Manor

The construction of Gutshaus Ludorf took place in 1698. Granite stones from the former Morin Castle, once located on a motte northeast of the current manor house, were used for its foundation. Morin Castle was the seat of a family that existed until the Thirty Years' War, after which the castle was destroyed and the family died out. Through marriage, the property passed to the Knuth family. Adam Levin von Knuth, the eldest son from this union and raised at the Danish court, had the current manor house built in the late 17th century. In the late 19th century, Ludorf changed hands again, remaining with the von Bülow family until 1945. Gutshaus Ludorf was placed under protection by the Soviet military administration as early as 1946.
