History+
The origins of Maasleben stretch back to 1463, when it was known as an episcopal fief under the designation Curia. Maasleben evolved into one of the estates in the Schwansen region. By 1626, the property already encompassed several surrounding villages, including Boesby, Holzdorf, Hümark, Söby, and Thumby. The core of the estate, the current Maasleben Manor, has been owned by the family of the present proprietor since 1871.
