The Mahrenholzhof in Magdeburg-Fermersleben is a historic manor and estate house, integrating a possibly medieval residential tower. It represents an architectural monument in a later heavily industrialized district.

History+

The estate complex was owned by the Mahrenholtz family for over three centuries. The oldest preserved component is a residential tower, whose origins are presumed to be in the 13th or 14th century, although the year 1530 is also mentioned as its date of construction. This three-story tower is only accessible via the adjacent residential building and features two offset gabled roofs. The manor house itself was built in 1695 according to an inscription, but may have an older core. It consists of a two-story main section and a smaller, single-story annex.
