Neu Sammit Manor

Originally established in 1725 as the Neu Sammit outpost, the farm was used for sheep and cattle breeding on the surrounding heathlands. Following reforestation with pines from 1790, the von Weltzien family sold the estate in 1793. Despite the dominance of pine forests, it was always referred to as a manor farm. Ownership changed frequently, including Johann Christoph Alexander Koenemann (1800), Heinrich Seeliger (1826), and Ludwig Friedrich Lübbe (1833). Dr. Georg Heinrich Franz Wertheimer finally separated the farmstead from Alt Sammit in 1839. Other owners included Johann Friedrich Buchholz (1849), Otto Erbrecht (1868), and Kammerjunker Otto Christoph Heinrich Gottlieb von Bülow (1873), who had the manor house built in 1887. After 1945, the manor house was expropriated and served various purposes, including as a sanatorium for lung diseases and a retirement home. Since 2007, it has been part of the Neu Sammit children's and youth meeting center as “House 2” and has undergone renovation.
