Neudöbern Manor

The origins of Neudöbern date back to around 1300, when a moated castle is believed to have been built here. In the 16th century, the locality, together with the neighboring Rettchensdorf, was enfeoffed to the brothers Siegmund and Hieronymus von Zieckau. From 1692, the estate became the property of the von Thilau family, who had the current Neudöbern Castle built in 1703. From 1890 to 1945, the von Pourtalès family owned the estate. In September 2009, three cast-iron commemorative plaques were discovered near the manor house, documenting the lives of members of the von Thilau family.
