Neudöbern Manor

Around 1300, Neudöbern is said to have originated as a moated castle. In that year, the village, together with the neighboring Rettchensdorf, was transferred as a fief to the brothers Siegmund and Hieronymus von Zieckau. From 1692, the estate belonged to the family von Thilau. In 1703, Neudöbern Castle was built. From 1890 to 1945, the estate was owned by the family von Pourtalès.

Neudöbern Castle, like a granary, is one of the architectural monuments in the municipality of Luckaitztal. The castle is now privately owned by the descendants of the last owner, Count von Pourtalès. Not far from the manor house, three cast-iron memorial plaques were found in September 2009, on which the biographies of three family members of the noble family von Thielau are written.
