Parin Manor

Parin was first mentioned in 1230 in the Ratzeburg tithe register. In the 14th century, ownership passed to the noble family von Plessen, who maintained a nobleman's seat there. This medieval court, later known as the "Alter Hof" (Old Farm), was moved to a new location in the 17th century. During the Thirty Years' War, the estate was briefly expropriated but returned to the possession of the von Plessens in 1634. In 1708, Parin was sold to Hartwig von Bülow and in 1750 came into the possession of the Counts of Bothmer, who held it until 1945.
