At the edge of the Parow district in the municipality of Kramerhof stands Gutshaus Parow. This historicist building is characterized by its red brick facade and architectural details that give it the character of an English country house.

History+

The construction of Gutshaus Parow was commissioned in 1860 by Friedrich Franz Freiherr von Langen. The estate remained in the possession of the von Langen family until 1945. Following expropriation as part of the land reform, the estate passed into communal ownership. In the post-war period, it first served as accommodation for refugees and was later used as a kindergarten, grocery store, and community hall. A significant addition was the Neo-Gothic family chapel from 1878, which underwent renovation between 2000 and 2002 and now serves as an external registry office. A resident was Carl-Friedrich von Langen, an Olympic champion in dressage from 1928.
