Pinnow Manor

Pinnow was first mentioned in a document in 1226. With the advance of Franconian and Westphalian settlers into this area, a motte-and-bailey castle and the associated village were built at this location. Until the Thirty Years' War, the motte was probably the residence of the knights living there. Later, an estate was built a little south of it. A knight Berthold Döring is mentioned in the middle of the 14th century. Various owners followed - including the von Aschersleben family in 1612 and Reimar Ernst von Voß in 1668. In 1700, ownership then changed to the von Klinggräff family, who lived here until their forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945. Pinnow Manor House was built between 1864 and 1869 by the architect Heinrich Wiethase in the Neo-Baroque style on behalf of Friedrich von Klinggräff (*29.04.1825 - †26.05.1887). After 1945, the manor house housed the municipal administration, the post office, an LPG office, and several apartments.
