Rey Manor

The former Rey manor was owned by the von Kaland family in the 17th century. The manor house was presumably built by the von Schack family at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1945, the last owner, Paula von Schack, was dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Apartments were set up in the manor house, and later a Konsum sales outlet also started operations. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the manor house stood empty for a long time and decayed. In the mid-1990s, the manor house was slated for demolition. In 2002, an investor was found who wanted to set up a nursing home in the house. These plans were thwarted in 2003 because a pig fattening farm was built not far from the manor house. After that, the manor house was auctioned off for 2000 Euros to a company from Frankfurt. Unfortunately, nothing has been done to the once so beautiful manor house, and it is visibly decaying.
