Rogäsen Manor

The history of the Rogäsen estate is closely tied to the von Werder family, who owned it for over 500 years. The knight's estate was first documented in 1421. A postal station for changing horses already existed on the property. A notable episode occurred when Frederick the Great, returning from a troop inspection in Magdeburg, had to make an unscheduled stop in Rogäsen because a carriage wheel had broken. During his stay at the von Werder estate, the king commissioned the then district administrator, Hans Dietrich von Werder, to drain the surrounding marshland and pave the wooden causeway. These measures led to von Werder being appointed Secret Financial Councillor in Berlin. The king also supported the construction of a new manor house, which was built around 1780. This building features a simple facade with a balcony and a coat of arms relief above the main entrance, and is surrounded by a park of approximately 25,000 square meters.
