Rothenklempenow Manor

The first documented mention of the site as "castrum clempenowe" dates from 1295, when it was founded by the Lords of Eickstedt. The complex served as one of the northern border fortifications along the Randowbruch, a natural boundary between Pomerania and Brandenburg. The estate was repeatedly occupied by Swedish, imperial, and Polish troops. In 1609, Hans von Eickstedt had the first manor house built, abandoning the castle as a residence. Between 1625 and 1640, during the Thirty Years' War, Rothenklempenow was almost completely destroyed during various occupations. The current manor house, built in half-timbered style with clay plaster, was constructed in 1761. Between 1850 and 1860, further estate buildings, also predominantly in half-timbered construction, were erected.
