The History of Saunstorf Manor House+

Saunstorf is first mentioned in a document in 1230. In 1790, the estate was founded and a manor house was built. In 1893, a new building was erected on the walls of the old manor house. In 1913, ownership transferred to Rudolf von Oertzen, who had the current manor house built between 1914-16. In 1931, ownership transferred to Rudolf von Oertzen, who was dispossessed and expelled by the communists in 1945. Thereafter, the house served as accommodation for refugees. The manor house was renovated from 2008-2010.
