Schierensee Manor

The estate's origins date back to 1752, when Caspar von Saldern acquired the property. He laid the foundation for an art collection. Between 1776 and 1782, the current manor house was constructed, with Baroque and Neoclassical styles and surrounded by a landscape garden. A large portion of the 18th-century interior furnishings and cultural treasures have been preserved to this day and are, like the building and the park, listed as historical monuments. The Hamburg publisher Axel Springer undertook renovations of the manor house from 1969 to 1971. The collection of cultural assets is continuously expanded. Currently, the estate is owned by the Günther Fielmann Stiftung Schierensee.
