Schwiessel Manor

The origins of the Schwiessel estate date back to the 14th century, when it was owned by the von Negendanck family. In 1561, the property changed hands to Dietrich von Bevernest, but returned to the Negendancks in 1667. Berthold Diedrich von Negendanck sold Schwiessel to Hans Heinrich von Levetzow in 1732. He, together with his wife Anna Dorothea von Plessen, had the current manor house built on the remains of a 13th-century house. The alliance coat of arms of the Plessen and Levetzow families above the entrance portal commemorates the builders.
