In Meißendorf, a district of Winsen (Aller) in the Celle district, Lower Saxony, Germany, is Gutshaus Sunder, a manor house.

History+

The origins of Gut Sunder date back to a free farm of St. Michaelis Monastery in Lüneburg. In 1548, the Lüneburg Chancellor Baltasar Klammer was enfeoffed with the monastic possessions in Meißendorf. He relocated the farm from the village to a new site, from which the name "Sunder" is derived, meaning "separate" or "set apart." At this new location, surrounded by moats and small ponds, a manor house was built in the style of Celle's bourgeois houses. After several changes of ownership, Gottlieb Ludewig von Schrader acquired the estate in 1752.
