Tessenow Manor

Tessenow is first mentioned in a document in 1272. In 1617, the Lords of Restorff sold the village and the estate to Johannes Busse. After this, ownership changed in 1660 to the Lords of Sperling and in 1750 to the Lords of Bülow. From 1788-1791, the manor house was rebuilt on the walls of a previous building. Ownership changed in 1798 to the von Moltke family, in 1814 to the von Wittinghausen family, in 1818 to the von Voss family, and from 1873 to 1878 to the Pollak family. Subsequently, further changes of ownership occurred. In 1909, the Counts of Albensleben-Schönborn bought the property. In 1934, the estate was settled and the manor house was converted into a school. In 1957, the house was severely damaged by lightning strike followed by a fire. Subsequently, an almost complete reconstruction took place.
