Udars Manor

The first documented mention of Udars dates back to the early 14th century. Initially owned by various families such as the von Pentz and von Barnekow, it belonged to Hiddensee Monastery until the Reformation. Around 1624, Duke Bogislaw XIV established it as a widow's residence for his wife Agnes, and it became known as the estate village of Agnesenhof. Later, it passed to Duchess Anna von Croÿ, whose son Ernst Bogislaw von Croy sold it in 1657 to the Stralsund council family von Wolfrad. After 1734, the von Usedom family of Kartzitz took over the property, holding it until around 1901. After several bourgeois owners, Karl von Schultz-Granskevitz acquired the main building in the 1930s and used it for his seed breeding business. After World War II, the manor house served as a military hospital, was used by the Red Army, and housed refugees. From the 1950s, it was part of the Association of Publicly Owned Estates and served as employee housing until 1994. Since 2004, it has been owned by a family from Kempten.
