Manor Weisdin

Gutshaus Weisdin, also known as Schloss Weisdin, is a manor house in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is situated on the northern shore of Lake Mittelsee and features Baroque architecture.

History+

The current building was constructed after a previous structure and large parts of the village were destroyed by fire around 1740. In 1749, Gotthard Carl Friedrich von Peckatel commissioned the two-story manor house in Baroque style. It features nine axes and a central risalit, topped with a hip roof. Simultaneously, a church with an octagonal floor plan was built on the opposite side. As von Peckatel had no male heirs, he sold his properties to Duke Adolf Friedrich IV of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in 1761. In the following decades, the estate was leased, with the tenants residing in the manor house. Towards the end of the 19th century, a winter garden with outdoor staircases was added to the park side.
