Welle Manor

The origins of the Welle manor complex date back to 1780, when Georg Wilhelm von Bismarck-Briest acquired lands here. His son, Levin Friedrich von Bismarck-Briest, consolidated the properties into a large estate and had the current manor house built in 1820. This became the family's main residence. In the early 20th century, Ludolf August von Bismarck divided the estate into the Welle and Briest estates. His son Bernhard Ludolf took over Gut Welle, laid out a park, and had the manor house rebuilt. Adalbert von Bismarck managed the farm until its expropriation in 1945.
