Wüsteney Manor

The manor house of Ziethen, a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof, was built in 1870 by the von Levetzow family. The property remained in their possession until 1945. After the expropriation and expulsion of the owners by the communists, the manor house was used to accommodate refugees and as a municipal office. Later, it served as a residential building for several families.

After the German reunification, the manor house was acquired by a private owner in 1995. The new owner extensively renovated the building and converted it into a hotel. Since 2000, the manor house of Ziethen has been operated as a 4-star hotel and is a popular destination for tourists and business travelers.

The manor house of Ziethen is an impressive example of the late 19th-century architectural style. The facade is adorned with numerous decorative elements, such as cornices, pilasters, and window pediments. The interior of the manor house is equally magnificent. The spacious rooms are furnished with antique furniture and offer a luxurious ambiance.

A special highlight is the manor house's park, which was laid out in the English landscape style. The park covers an area of 5 hectares and houses a variety of rare trees and shrubs. A small lake and several bridges invite you to take a stroll.

The von Levetzow family is an old Mecklenburg noble family that was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century. The family owned numerous estates in Mecklenburg and Pomerania. The most famous member of the family was undoubtedly Ulrike von Levetzow, who was the last love of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

The von Levetzow family was expropriated and expelled from Ziethen in 1945. After the German reunification, the family tried to reclaim their former property. However, this was not possible due to legal regulations.

Today, the manor house of Ziethen is a successful hotel that combines history with modern comfort. The hotel offers its guests a variety of amenities, such as a restaurant, a bar, a spa area, and several conference rooms.
