The Manor House of Dalberg+

The manor house of Dalberg is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof, built around 1750. It was extended in the 19th century with a single-story extension on the west side and a two-story extension on the east side. The manor house is situated on a high basement and has a total of 15 axes. The central axis is emphasized by a two-story avant-corps with a triangular gable. The windows are rectangular and have simple frames. The entrance is located on the north side and is reached via a flight of stairs.

History of the Manor House+

The manor house of Dalberg was built around 1750 by the family von Dalberg. The family von Dalberg was an old noble family that had owned the estate since the Middle Ages. In 1817, the manor house was sold to the family von Bassewitz. The family von Bassewitz made some changes to the manor house, including the addition of the single-story extension on the west side and the two-story extension on the east side.

In 1922, the estate was owned by the family von Bassewitz. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.

The Manor House Today+

After 1945, the manor house was used for various purposes, including as a refugee home, a school, and a community center. In 1998, the manor house was acquired by a private investor and extensively renovated. Today, the manor house is used as a hotel and restaurant. It is also a popular venue for weddings and other events.

The Park

The manor house is surrounded by a large park that was laid out in the 19th century. The park contains a variety of trees and shrubs, as well as a pond and a fountain. The park is open to the public and is a popular place for walks and relaxation.
