The castle was first mentioned in 1394 as the country castle "Hof Anwanden". In 1601, the castle was rebuilt, and in 1632, an expansion took place. In 1672, ownership changed through marriage to the Hau family (hence it was called Haubenschloss from about the end of the 18th century).
