In the Hochsauerlandkreis, near Brilon-Alme in North Rhine-Westphalia, stands Haus Almerfeld, a manor and estate house. The building, characterized by its stepped gables and a Baroque portal, represents 18th-century architecture in the region.

History+

The manor house was constructed in 1738. The designs were created by Michael Spanner, a master builder from Erwitte, who was also responsible for Kloster Grafschaft and the abbey building in Kloster Liesborn. The estate was once owned by the Counts of Spee. A sandstone with the family coat of arms and the year 1746 on the stable indicates later additions.
