Bisping Castle
Haus Bisping is a moated castle located in Rinkerode, a district of Drensteinfurt in the Münsterland region. Only parts of the original complex remain today.
History+
The origins of Haus Bisping date back to the 16th century, when the von Galen family acquired the property. One of the most notable figures born here was Christoph Bernhard von Galen, who later became Prince-Bishop of Münster. The current gatehouse was built in 1651.
On site+
Visitors today can still find parts of the moat and the gatehouse from 1651. This structure showcases the typical Münsterland architecture with red bricks and yellow sandstone window frames. The property is privately owned.
