Boisdorf Manor

Haus Boisdorf or Gut Boisdorf is located south of the district town of Düren, North Rhine-Westphalia, between the districts of Rölsdorf and Lendersdorf; nestled between a landscape and nature reserve ("Südliche Rurauen").

The origins of Gut Boisdorf date back to the time of the Franks. It was first mentioned in writing in the 16th century. On the manor house, there are wall anchors indicating 1532 as the year of construction or restoration.

Originally, the fortified, water-surrounded complex was a fief of the Duke and later Grand Duke of Jülich (water castle). At the end of the 19th century, the property passed into bourgeois ownership. In the mid-1930s, Gut Boisdorf was donated to the city of Düren.

After the Second World War, the moats of the complex were filled in. The estate was used for agriculture for some time. From the mid-1980s, the farm stood empty, and the entire ensemble threatened to fall into disrepair. In 1993, Gut Boisdorf was acquired by businessman and medical sociologist Rudolf Weyergans from Aachen. Since 1995, the estate has been the headquarters of Weyergans High Care AG.
