Borg Castle

The construction of the buildings on the islands spans from the 15th to the 20th century. The manor house, located on the main island, was built in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. In the early 18th century, under the direction of Grand Marshal Jobst Stephan von Kerckerinck, the castle underwent renovation and expansion work, overseen by the Baroque architect Gottfried Laurenz Pictorius. After centuries in the possession of the von Kerckerinck family, who owned Haus Borg since 1466, the estate was sold in 1988 to the industrialist Dreier from Dortmund.
