Haus Havixbeck is a moated castle in the municipality of Havixbeck in the Coesfeld district. This structure is a typical example for the region, characterized by its well-preserved architecture.

History+

The origins of Haus Havixbeck date back to a medieval manor. In 1369, the estate was enfeoffed to Dietrich von Schonebeck and came into the possession of the von Bevern family around 1450 through marriage. Johann von Bevern began constructing the current manor house in the Renaissance style in 1562. Through the marriage of the heiress Ermgard von Bevern to Rudolph von Twickel in 1601, the property became part of the von Twickel family's dowry, who still manage it today.
