Heidhorn Manor

The first documented mention of Haus Heidhorn dates to 1235, when a knight named Themo de Berle sold a forest plot belonging to the estate to St. Aegidii Monastery. Shortly thereafter, the entire property passed into the possession of this monastery, where it remained until 1795. In the following years, Haus Heidhorn was repeatedly affected by mercenaries from various armies. In 1812, during the Napoleonic era, the estate became French. A turning point was its purchase by the Münster merchant Josef Hötte in 1844, who later transferred it to his nephew Josef Hötte jun.
