Heilenbecke Manor

The monument ensemble Haus Heilenbecke is a listed ensemble of three houses with the postal address Heilenbecker Straße 42, 46 and 46a and the associated garden complex in the Heilenbecker Bachtal in the Milspe district of Ennepetal.

Haus Heilenbecke

Haus Heilenbecke was built in 1784/85 in the Bergisch Rococo style, according to a slate inscription. The master builder was Eberhard Haarmann from Breckerfeld. The client was the hammer mill owner Johann Peter Heilenbeck, who was also appointed as a receptor. The house originally has a square floor plan and has a curved central gable facing both the street and the garden side.

In 1830/40, the house was extended to the north, with the extension stylistically oriented towards the original building, but not executed as splendidly. On the street side, there is a loading hatch with a loading boom and side windows in the gable. The house entrance with a carved front door, ornate transom, and side hall windows is splendidly designed and faces the garden, which was formerly used as a bleaching meadow.

Six window axes with original wooden sash windows with Bergisch-green shutters face the garden. The entrance hall, stucco ceilings, and furniture from the late 18th century are preserved and show the character of a very well-preserved and well-maintained prosperous bourgeois house.

Coachman's House

South of the main building, a coachman's house with a mansard roof, curved central dormer, and sash windows was built in 1919 in place of an old forging hammer. The architect Peter Nau was responsible for the construction.

Worker's House

The worker's house next to the coachman's house is a simple half-timbered and slate house from the 19th century. It was built for the workers of the neighboring companies Franz Hesterberg and Söhne.

Garden Complex

Also protected is a square garden pond built in the Baroque style and an 18th-century garden pavilion with a weather vane dated 1738.
