Haus Kemnade is a moated castle in Hattingen-Blankenstein, North Rhine-Westphalia. Originally located on the northern bank of the Ruhr, a flood in 1486 changed the river's course, leaving the property south of the Ruhr in the floodplains. The castle's name, derived from "Kemenate" (a heated room), refers to the special feature of a masonry fireplace that distinguished it from the surrounding farmhouses.
