Kirchberg Castle

Kirchberg Castle is located in the Kirchberg district of Jülich, in the Düren district. The manor house of the castle was named "Wymarshof" after its builder. It was built in 1605 as a 2-story brick building with characteristic stepped gables. In 1700, a 3-winged outer bailey complex, open to the manor house, was erected. The owners at the time also made some changes to the facades of the economic wings, but the original purpose of the individual outer bailey wings remained recognizable.
The tower, which is topped by a battlement, was added around 1900. The manor house and the outer bailey were formerly surrounded by moats. These were fed by the mill pond. Today, only a few areas still carry water.
