Lüttinghof Castle
Haus Lüttinghof in Gelsenkirchen-Hassel is considered the oldest architectural monument in the city. The moated castle was originally built in the early 14th century and redesigned in Baroque style in the 18th century.
History+
The origins of Haus Lüttinghof date back to the early 14th century. In the early 18th century, the castle underwent Baroque remodeling under the Lords of Nesselrode, including the creation of an ornamental garden. In the 20th century, the castle chapel and the economic buildings were demolished. In place of the former outer bailey, a modern new building was constructed by 1991.
