History+

The history of Lützinghausen dates back to 1287, when the locality was first mentioned as a court seat and likely already housed a knight's estate. In the 16th century, the estate was owned by the von Mollenbeck family. Through the marriage of Anna von Mollenbeck to Caspar von Omphal, it passed to the Rhenish legal family von Omphal, who expanded their property through acquisitions in the following centuries. In 1733, Johann Theodor Caspar von Omphal and his wife Anna Klara von Neuhoff began construction of the current manor house next to an older predecessor building.
