Obereimer Castle

The origins of Haus Obereimer date back at least to the 15th century, with the core of the manor house possibly being even older. From 1627, the electoral chief cellarer Hermann Dücker acquired lands and rights to develop the estate into a knightly manor eligible for the Landtag. Elector Maximilian Heinrich of Bavaria bought it from Dücker for 12,000 Reichstalers. Under electoral patronage, the estate was expanded: intensive livestock farming, an arboretum and pleasure garden, large fish ponds, a gunpowder mill, and a stud farm were established. The stud farm counted over 100 horses in 1741 but was abandoned in 1748 due to high costs.
